Happy Birthday to the Twins - Gladys & Gale - August 17, 2008
Sunday, August 17, 2008 - It's been 88 years since the Berg Twins were born.  Gladys is
the oldest by an hour (ladies first) and Gale is the younger one.

I've tried to find all of the pictures of Grandpa and Aunt Gladys from when they were
young.  The one on the left with the nurse is the earliest known photo that we have.  I'm
not sure why Russell and Everett are dressed up (cute as buttons!) but maybe it was the
twins' christening.  I don't know??

Grandpa and Granny have come up to Illinois for the week because Grandpa wanted to
spend his 88th birthday with his sister.  We're having a birthday party at our house today.
Thank the Lord, the weather is supposed to be low 80's and mostly sunny.  whew!  Plus,
it's Elburn Days and we need good weather for that.

Last night, we went to Rosita's and saw Bob and Joan.  That was fun.  We sat outside and
they sang Happy Birthday to Grandpa while he wore the big sombrero. It MUST be a Berg
tradition.  haha   I'll put some birthday festivity pictures on here on Monday.  Happy
Boofday, Grandpa (as Andrew would say).  Happy Boofday, Aunt Gladys!   bye, djb

Gale & Gladys - this is my favorite pose.  Cute!

Here's the full picture of the above
cropped picture of the big brothers
holding the twins. I didn't realize
until I cropped this one that both the
high chair picture and this picture
were taken at the same time.
Gladys is on the far left in the middle row.  Gale is on the far right in the back row.  Verna (their cousin is the
teacher).  They were about 11 years old.  1931.

was a very fun night.
