Mammy
Sunday, February 22, 2009 - Isn't
this cute?  I hope you all can read it.
The default color is PINK, so I'm just
going with the flow on this one.

I really had fun putting the pictures
and cards on here.  The OLD
(and I do
mean old)
photos are so interesting.

It's very cold here - we got about three
and a half inches of snow yesterday.
Plus, below zero wind chills - brutal!

Oh yeah, Happy Birthday to the father
of our country, George Washington.  I
think he and Mammy went to school
together
(just kidding).  haha

Enjoy your celebration.  see ya, djb

Here's a birthday post card that was sent to
Eva (Mammy) for her 16th birthday in 1911.
Here's Mammy next to Pappy's sister (Julia) holding her two
kids and also Pappy's mother in front of the log cabin.
This birthday post card was sent in 1911 - almost
100 years ago
Miss Eva Gulso; Watkins, Minn. Rt 2  - Feb 21, 1911 - Dear friend,
As tomorrow is your Birthday, I will send you a card.  How did
you get over the big time.  Yours, Leslie
Here's Mammy with Andrew, Jarrett and Bob at her 100th
birthday party on February 22, 1995, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Here's Bob with Pappy and Mammy at his folks' house
in Rochelle.
Jarrett was about 7 months old when Pappy & Mammy spent
the afternoon talking and playing with him.  It was so sweet!!!
I like the juxtaposition of the young and the old faces.
Andrew and his great-grandmother -  91 years apart.
Here are quite a few of Mammy and Pappy's descendants (Eva & Frank Leigh) posing for a group picture
after Pappy's funeral in February 1989.  Notice Andrew in the front row goofing around....as usual.
