Happy Anniversary Journal - February 27, 2009
FLASHBACK TO ONE YEAR AGO -- Wednesday, February 27,
2008 -
Granny had her cataract surgery yesterday and is recovering
slowly but surely.  She still has the blurry vision which is kind of
annoying and she's not a happy camper!!

Since my surgery was ten years, I had forgotten some of the
post-operative side effects.  oops.  That's "selective anmesia."  You
really don't want to remember everything!  It's very scary.

After she mentioned some of the problems to me, I said, "Oh yeah.  I
had that."  Apparently, some people have the surgery and they can see
perfectly fine right away.  That's not the case with people in our family.  It
took a while before I could see clearly now the rain has gone.  haha
(old song reference)

Yesterday, I had to shovel the 6 inches of wet snow that Mother Nature
deposited in our driveway -- all by myself.  None of my neighbors came
by with their tractors or blowers or throwers -- which I  always welcome
but never count on.

It wasn't too bad.  At first, it was easy.  Then, after it got colder and
colder, it was hard to move.  But the sun is out now so it should melt
the rest, residue and remainder that's still on the driveway.  Maybe I'll
just go out and see how it's doing.

Better go.  I've been fiddling around with these pages all morning long,
and I'm extremely famished --- it's noon and I'm hungry because I know
there's some of that citrus fruit salad in the frig and also a very lovely
cauliflower.  yummmmm

see ya later.
Happy Anniversary to Bergs!  bye, djb
Friday, February 27, 2009 - Happy 63rd Anniversary
Grandpa and Granny.  Happy Anniversary to you.

Three years ago, we were all in Florida to celebrate the 60th
anniversary of my parents --- Andrew and Jarrett's grandparents.
It's an unwritten law that you can only publicly celebrate
anniversaries that end in a 5 or a 0.  hahahhaaa  That's funny!!!

Actually, I don't think we could soon duplicate the 60 year
festivities as they were darn near perfect.  If only we could have
had Uncle Everett and Aunt Gladys there with us, it would've been.

My right eye has been bothering me ALL WEEK so I'm not in the
mood to write a lot of witty and/or pithy comments.  I just want to
get this posted asap before the day gets away from me.

When I talked to Bergs last night, they informed me that they
would be so BUSY today that they wouldn't be able to look at
these pages until later in the day.  Not sure if that's exactly true or
not.  Since Grandpa likes to get the computer on early.

BUT, it is Friday and everyone in our family knows what day that
is: they clean the house, then they go to water aerobics, then they
go grocery shopping.  And these are people in their EIGHTIES.

I just found out that they're going to
Red Lobster for dinner
tonight!!  That's so nice.  Andrew LOVED going to Red Lobster
(especially for the crab legs)!!

The Bergs are such wonderful role models.  As long as they keep
moving and doing stuff, I'm not old.  hahaha

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, GRANDPA &
GRANNY!!!

Have fun!!!  see ya later, djb
