Pink (mutant) Asian Lily - quite stunning to see in person!
Birdies in the tree this morning making a lot of noise.
The rose quartet

They smell wonderful - just
exactly the same aroma as the
roses that Grandma Berg grew
on the farm.
This lily reminds me of orange sherbet
The Stella d'oro daylily - very lovely

Tuesday, June 20, 2006 - Once again, this morning, I had to go
out and take pictures of the flowers.  Here's a picture (
above) of
the stalk of the
mutant lily.  I've been studying it closely.  It has
the EXACT same flowers as the other lily next to it (
picture on
the right), however, I do think it got into some of my prednisone.
(haha).  very funny.  I know that it did the same thing last year...I
can't remember what it did other years.  I'll have to go into my
photo archives and see what I can see.

The sun is out now but we're supposed to be getting rain later.
They love to yak about rain.  It's so annoying!  How did we know
what to do years ago when the only way you knew it going to rain
was an ache in your bones (
or was it a pain in the neck)?  Now,
I just heard that the storm headed this way from Iowa is starting to
fall apart.  See what I mean?  blah, blah, blah....

I'm extremely concerned about this stupid Iraq conflict going on
(I
can't call it a war because  the Constitution of the US says
that only Congress can declare war - because the framers
knew what they were doing!).
Just because you say it's a war
doesn't mean that it is.  Vietnam was a "police action" right?
Confuse, confound and double talk real fast so no one knows
what's going on (also use BIG words).

I remember when I was at an aerospace company in the late 70's.
We were making missiles and stuff to kill people.  They generally
never used the word KILL, instead euphemisms were used.   One
day, however, I came across the words, "kill factor."  (totally
creeped me out!)   Shortly after that, I quit and went to work at
the corporate offices for "Red Lobster" typing rejection letters!

There was an interesting article in the paper this morning about
reinstating the draft.  Yeah, rich and poor, smart and duh -
everyone gets a chance to SERVE their country!  What a
fabulous idea!!

IF the people who started this mess
(by the way, right after the
boys died)
, would have to send THEIR OWN CHILDREN to a war
zone, I'll bet they would have used a helluva of a lot more
diplomacy for a longer time, and they'd have an awesome exit
strategy.

There's some kind of disconnect with people who are
FOR this
mess.  The next time someone parrots the words that have been
planted into their brains
(against terrorists, for the war), I'll
have to ask them if they're planning to enlist or are they
encouraging their own children to enlist?  No, let someone else's
kids die in that Godforsaken place.  Your own kids go to Iraq -
you've GOT TO BE KIDDING!  Are you nuts?

When I heard about those two young soliders being tortured and
killed for no reason other than incredible hostile hatred for the US
and downright malevolent acts with total disregard for life, it made
me feel sick - it breaks my heart, and I feel so incredibly sad for
their families, fellow soldiers and their friends.  The truth is, I feel
sad for all of us.

We're all connected through our humanity.  Once we start acting
like barbarians and stop acting kindly toward one another, we're
in big trouble.
Note to self:  we're in big trouble!

Plus, Kevin's going into the Army one week from today.  It makes
me
VERY, VERY nervous and also brings this damn stupid "war"
into micro-focus.  I hate when that happens.  I'm basically a
peaceful person.
(Can't we all just get along?)

I prefer growing flowers rather than killing people I don't even
know for reasons that are obscure at best and shady at most - in
a war that's not really a war but our young men are dying, and
their families have to bury them.  That's the part I know about.

That's the worst part.....  God help us all.  djb
Thursday, June 22, 2006 - There's a HUGE storm headed this way.  I don't know
how intense it is but it's big.  So, I'm going to get this on here and turn off the
computer asap.

I found this picture yesterday.  Andrew, Uncle Bergy, Jarrett and Gayla's arm at
Rosita's in DeKalb.  You see what I mean - we have to take the youngsters there
early to indoctrinate them into the "
way of Rosita."  This was in the old days when
they just had the narrow room.

Diane is almost 100% sure what's wrong with her.  It's a very interesting story,
certainly could be on "Mystery Diagnosis" considering the fact that these idiots
have been clueless for a year as to what's wrong with her.  Yes, I am being kind -
you should hear what I REALLY think.  Oh my, mercy!

Last night, Bob and I saw a huge raccoon at dusk.  I think he was confused
because of the summer solstice and woke up early.

gotta go before the storm comes, djb
Wednesday, June 21, 2006 - HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE to you.  Summer arrived this morning at 7:26 a.m. CDT.  I'm ready for that!!  We had about a
quarter inch of rain this morning.  To hear the weather people talking, you would think that we need to contact Noah and get an ark built fairly soon.
Pretty sure that right now, we're under a weather warning.  Good luck to us all.  The rain has finally stopped - it was mostly just annoying sprinkles and
some thunder.  Maybe I'll be back a little later.  Maybe I won't.  see ya around, djb
