Friday, June 29, 2007 - I had this page almost ready to go yesterday
but I ran out of time.  Today is almost as busy but I'm going to pop in
a few pictures from the HUGE storm we got on Wednesday.  Within
a half hour, we had dark clouds, lightning, thunder, an unrelenting
downpour, Niagara Falls over the gutters, hail, strong winds from the
north, then the south, and finally steam rising from the driveways.  It
was quite the summer storm.  The temperature dropped 20 degrees
within that half hour.  It hasn't returned to its previous hot and humid
state.  Bummer.

We're hoping that it gets up to the 90's and stays sunny for next
week's festivities.  There is a possibility of those sneaky afternoon
thunderstorms forecast for a few days.  Of course, that would make
Diane feel right at home.  haha

It's cloudy AGAIN.  This is getting annoying.  Where did summer go?
It feels more like fall today.  Although I suppose it is a good day for
working outside.  Especially the guys working on the roads putting
down asphalt.  But for the swimmers - not so good.  see ya later, djb

Wednesday, July 4, 2007 - I'm not going to write a WHOLE lot but I did want to
put a few pictures in here for the Bergs since their email wasn't working... just
got a call from Granny.  It's working now!

Friday (the 29th), I had lunch with Colleen, Jeannette, Keith, Stephanie and
Brad at Chili's.  Friday night, Bob and I went over to Chad's 21st birthday party.
What a hoot!

On Sunday, we scooped up Diane at the Rockford Airport (the best airport) and
went up to see Liz and Ron's new house in McHenry.  They finally have the sod
in their front yard!! hurray!

Monday, Diane and I went over to visit Aunt Gladys at the Rehab Center.  She's
doing SO GREAT.  Lots and visitors and she has the best attitude in the world!
It was so good to see her doing well.  Of course, we had to go to Rosita's and
Farm & Fleet!!!

Tuesday, we started making preparations for the 4th of July picnic we're
having TODAY.  It rained last night - thunder and lightning and 3/4 of an inch of
rain.  Now, the sun is coming out.  Maybe more storms today but that would
just be God's fire works.  Have a great 4th of July!!!  bye for now.  God bless
America, djb

supposed to be
knee-high by the 4th of July.  Apparently, it's knee
high to a giraffe.
