Daily Journal - March 6, 2008
Thursday, March 6, 2008 - There's something about this day
that sounds familiar but I'm not sure what it is....hmmmm

Yesterday, Bob stayed home from work and slept all day.
Every year in March, he gets bronchitis.  Although one year, he
did get pneumonia.  Hopefully, he'll be better soon.

Anywho....we were supposed to go out to eat last night with Tim
and Terri but I had to cancel that.  So, I went down to Blackberry
to get some soup and food for Bob because I wasn't cooking.

You will
NOT believe who I saw!!!  There were these four happy
young guys
(as opposed to grumpy old men) standing around
one of those video game machines on the bar.  I looked over,
and there was Harry
(and his younger brother).  Then, I saw
Dustin.  And also Rich.  The three older guys were ALL in
Andrew's graduating class!!!

It was totally amazing to see them on the day that Andrew died
5 years ago.  They were so sweet and kind and could not have
been nicer to me.  Dustin's working as a
sous chef at a new
restaurant in North Aurora.   We'll be eating there soon.

The most hilarious thing in the world was listening to them talk
about food preparation.  "Now, exactly what type of chutney
does he serve with that?"  OMG   What a hoot.

It was a special gift from Andrew to have them there so that they
could  brighten my day and bring a smile to my face.  Hugs
from boys....okay, young men.  I never go down to Blackberry at
that time of day but I felt compelled to do it yesterday.  I know for
sure Andrew steered me there!!!  It totally made my day.

Something else also happened that had Andrew's special paw
print all over it --- I can't talk about it specifically but it was also
extremely cool.  Very much Andrew.  Very amazing.  It did involve
a wager, so let's just leave it at that.  It also cracked me up.

It makes me laugh even now as I think about yesterday.  What a
great day.  Somehow, it feels as though at some point in the
past two months, the bright light has finally chased the
shadows away.  And once that happened, good things have
begun to occur.  Like attracts like.  eh?   That's what "they" say.

When I was thinking about what picture to put on the home
page today, I remembered that I had a picture of Andrew with
Micki, and since yesterday was "Uno's Day" in Chicago, I
decided to pop it in.  Then, I thought, hmmmm, will the other
pets want their pictures in here, too.  Okie dokie.

The pictures of the boys with Saki were taken shortly after she
allowed Diane to become her mother.  haha   We were visiting
Florida and after we went to the Altamonte Mall, we had to go
over to Diane's apartment to see Saki.  While we were at the
mall, the boys each bought a laser pointer.  oh boy.

They'd move the light around on the wall and move it toward the
closet door at the end of the hallway so Saki would chase it and
slide on the throw rug and crash into the door.  It was
hysterical.  No, she didn't get hurt.  She has so much fur on that
tiny little body that she's basically covered in furry body armor.

It's time to get ready and go to the store.  I need some stuff that
you can only buy at Target.  Why is that?  None of these other
stores have my calcium vitamins.....I don't get it.  But they do
have millions of other types.  It's crazy.

It's still cold.  My toes are freezing.  bye for now, djb
