We remembered Andrew and Jarrett -
March 7, 9, 10, 2009
Monday, March 9, 2009 - I'm still trying to get my pictures
organized.  On Saturday, we had lightning and thunder,
so that put the kibosh on my best laid plans, but I did get
the Rosita's photos posted.  Yesterday, Krissy came over
in the late afternoon and brought along the pictures that
she took the other night, so I have a few more pictures of
the fiesta to add to the ones that I already had....

Right now, I'm trying to get all of my other chores done
since she's coming back around 3:30 or 4 and we're
going over to Cabana Charlie's for dinner.  We have a
minor situation that initially involved a gas leak back in
January 2003
(which was repaired), subsequent leakage,
wet carpet, wet towels and another
SEVERE WEATHER
ALERT
for today.  What a pain!!

It's time to get this up and running....although I hear the
phone, so it appears my plans have once again
changed.  see ya later.  djb
On Thursday, March 5th (Andrew's day), the sun was
shining and I got a good picture of all the flowers at
their grave.  God bless Andrew.  God bless Jarrett.
On March 1st, I noticed that this was starting to bloom - the
Christmas cactus that never blooms on Christmas.  BOTH
blooms came out on March 3rd which is when I took this photo.
Usually this time of year, it's snowy and very cold.  On
the 3rd that was true but by the 5th the sun came out.
Here are the flowers I bought for the vase that I have sitting
between Andrew and Jarrett's photos.  They are absolutely
gorgeous and I can SMELL the STAR GAZERS - get it?????
Saturday, March 7, 2009 - What a wild and bizarre
week it was.  Right now, I just want to get the link to
the first celebration on here so you can see all of the
wonderful people who came out to Rosita's to be with
us as we remembered Andrew and Jarrett on March
3rd.  No one can believe that they've been gone for
SIX YEARS!  Certainly not I.

There's a whole weird thing about the STAR balloons
that I originally bought to put out at the cemetery
(but
didn't)
so I'm trying to get a good picture of each of the
two balloons but they keep moving and then the light
bounces off of them and blinds me....even more than
I am.  They are quite lovely so I'll keeping trying.

You can see them in the slideshow from Rosita's.  All
righty.  I'm going to put this on so at least you can see
some of the pictures.  I'll tell you what, it's been
something else.  see ya later, djb
Tuesday, March 10, 2009 - Rain and storms - annoying.

Last night, I talked to Aunt Gladys -- she'd been thinking
about us and called to say hi.  It's amazing to me how
determined and resilient my relatives are and what hardy
stock I come from - even though I'm pretty sickly.

My mom and dad go to water aerobics three times a
week.  Most likely, I'd drown in the shallow end after such
a workout!!!  And Grandpa is getting ready to put in a new
fence in the back yard.  The other one was hidden by the
foliage for years and lo and behold, more than a few
slats were missing!!  He and Granny cleaned up ALL the
dead tropical plants -- a total of 44 bags of crap.

Aunt Gladys goes out and about all the time to church on
Sunday and her circle group of church ladies, and also a
quilt making group.  Plus, they go out to lunch and she
goes along and they bring her walker and no one cares.

When I stop and think about them and how they all keep
moving even though they're not young, I'm pretty lucky to
have such positive role models.  Kudos to them!  ~djb
Here's Grandpa right after the delivery of the new fence sections.
It became apparent that a new one was needed after all of the
foliage was frozen in the BIG FREEZE of the Winter of 2009.
