March 8 & 15, 2010 - Current Journal
Monday, March 8, 2010 - I'm finally back to something closely
approximating normal.  What is normal anyway?  hmmmm

Gayla (aka Gayle, Gaye) came to visit us on Friday night.  It was
GREAT to see her!!!!!!  We're so much alike, it's actually kind of
scary.  Although, I do realize that I'm 25 years older than she is.
I'm not her contemporary, I'm Aunt Donna.  Thank you.

Since she lives in Arizona -- where everyone goes to visit and get
warm -- Gayla decided to do a reverse spring vacation and come
to Illinois to see lots of snow and freeze her toes.  haha

Although, I do think that she brought the warmer weather with her.
Kind of like I do when I go to Florida.  I always ask for 80
degrees....and I get it.  Imagine that!?  It must be magic.

We had such a nice time on March 3rd with everyone who
remembered Andrew and Jarrett.  It was one of those "I'm in
shock days" for me.  Because my right eye is still weird, I can't
really cry - so I don't.  But I want to sometimes.  That's hard.

I decided to put the pictures from March 3rd on my Facebook page
because that's easier and more accessible to more people.  We
didn't meet with Andrew's friends specifically on March 5th but
they were going to get together somewhere.

It isn't that we forget that Andrew was pronounced dead on March
5th because we were there, it just didn't work out this year but next
year it'll be a Saturday so that'll be easier to work with.

It's cloudy right now, but we're supposed to be getting sunshine
and warmness (50's) later.  oh boy!  Some of my flowers are
starting to sprout which means that since the snow only recently
melted, those dummies were coming up under a frozen layer of
ice...duh!  Time to take care of business, so I'll see ya later, djb

on because it was TOO bright.  I took the picture.  haha
Monday, the Ides of March 2010 - When I was in high school, we
put on a play written by Julius Caesar and I was Calpurnia.  My
outfit was made from drapes.  It was actually quite lovely. haha

Over the weekend, I finally got to see the results of Micki's eyeball
removal surgery (caused by a very bad cataract, severe glaucoma
and infection of her left eye).  Since she couldn't see out of the eye
anyway, I think her main adjustments were the after-effects of a
surgical procedure, the doggie drugs and the discomfort that
comes from getting sliced and diced, and that weird cone thingie.

However, the one thing I noticed about Micki since the last time I
saw her (when she was very uncomfortable) was that her
laid-back, happy-go-lucky nature had returned.  She's quite content,
loves to go outside in the back yard and take naps!  When you first
hear about this type of surgery, it makes you feel so sorry for her.

Now, it's obvious that this was the best decision for her.  later, djb
